There has been some very sad news for our church. Last week one of our members went into the hospital for surgery. The surgery went well, but as he was recovering he developed two blood clotts, one in each lung. They couldn't get the blood clotts disolved before his heart stopped and he passed away. I'm not telling you all of this to depress you, especially this time of year. We need to pray for this dear family. He left behind a wife and seven kids ranging in age from 2 years to 18.
The other reason I am telling you this is that because of this tragedy they canceled our Christmas Play. That was a big disappointment, especially considering how long I worked on those kimonos, but not near as disappointing as it is to think about a family now having to celebrate this Christmas without their Dad. It just goes to show you that life is so uncertain and that we need to focus on what is the most important things rather than the petty, silly, stupid things we all get caught up in.

HI Janelle, I'm so sorry for this family. I can't imagine losing a loved one right before Christmas. I will definitely be praying for them and for your Church family.
I'm also sorry that the Christmas play was canceled. Maybe they can do it next year and will use your Kimonos then.

Whoa. This really puts things in perspective as to what's important to have at Christmastime. We'll pray for God's comfort and strength for the family.

Thank you all for your prayers. The family is doing well, all things considered. The widdow has been such an inspiration to me she's being so strong through all of this. The church has been ingredible too. God is good ALWAYS, not matter what!
