PS

In the pictures I just posted, yes, that is a terrible bruise on Aaron's forehead. I was almost thinking of calling it a birth mark, because the minute one of his bruises goes away on his head, he ends up getting another one to replace it. This instance, Aaron was trying to jump from one chair to the other, and we all know how well one year olds can jump, and he hit his head straight on the wooden arm. I thought for sure his head was going to be split open, but it just made a huge bump and a nice bruise to follow. I just wanted to explain why my son is a "knot head".

"Cool Car"

Because of our recent home improvement projects we've had to make several trips to Home Depot. We wanted to see how Aaron would like riding around the store in this. Somehow he started calling this special basket "Cool Car". We would just drive into the parking lot of Home Depot and he'd start saying "Cool Car". Cracked me up so much I had to take a picture!

Future Starbucks Lover!

One, I guess you'd call it, tradition that Ron and I enjoy is going to Starbucks on Saturday mornings. It's a treat because that's the only day, usually, that we get to go there. Lately Aaron has felt left out and so we started getting him a little something so he can be like Mom and Dad! I just thought these pictures were cute and hopefully it doesn't mean that we're being a bad influence on him!

Aaron's a big boy now!

It's actually been a month or so ago now, but we decided it was about time to make Aaron's crib into a big boy bed. We thought it would be fun to get him special sheets for the momentous occassion! We also thought we had better use a guard so he won't fall off the bed. He's still moves all around quite a bit when he sleeps. He's done really well with it so far, but thinks it's a game and tests our patience by getting out of bed when it's nap time. He also likes to get up early and thinks we need to be up too since he is awake and up! It's been a little bit of a bitter-sweet experience!

Our most recent project

Over our little Christmas break Ron and I decided it would be a good time to re-do our laundry room and pantry area. We put in new tile, painted the walls, and put up some new shelving for the pantry and above the washer and dryer. Two things that we learned from this project - we are thankful that we don't do flooring or painting every day for a living and that we aren't as young as we used to be. It was a lot more work than we thought that it would have been, but the results are well worth the effort!

The ugly floor and walls before.
Laying down the mortar and new tiles

New paint color on the walls

Everythings is dry and we're ready to bring in the washer, dryer, and water heater.

New pantry area.
Final product. Aaron really likes it too!

Happy New Year!

I know this is a couple days late, but it's better late than never! If you are friends or family that received our Christmas card it's likely that you've already seen this picture, but I wanted to show all my blog friends out there. Our family wants to wish you the best in the coming year!
