Tonka Truck Love

We went to a Christmas Party that Ron's work put on. Those parties are so much more fun when you have kids! Anyway, they had presents there to give out to the kids, really nice presents I might add! Well, as you can see, Aaron got the big Tonka Dumptruck! I'm not sure who liked it more, Dad or Aaron! Aaron pushed that thing around all night long and has been playing with it constantly ever since we've gotten it home! Ron was a Tonka Truck lover as a child and so he's pretty excited about Aaron's reaction to it! Just thought I'd share these pictures!!!

No Christmas Play

There has been some very sad news for our church. Last week one of our members went into the hospital for surgery. The surgery went well, but as he was recovering he developed two blood clotts, one in each lung. They couldn't get the blood clotts disolved before his heart stopped and he passed away. I'm not telling you all of this to depress you, especially this time of year. We need to pray for this dear family. He left behind a wife and seven kids ranging in age from 2 years to 18.
The other reason I am telling you this is that because of this tragedy they canceled our Christmas Play. That was a big disappointment, especially considering how long I worked on those kimonos, but not near as disappointing as it is to think about a family now having to celebrate this Christmas without their Dad. It just goes to show you that life is so uncertain and that we need to focus on what is the most important things rather than the petty, silly, stupid things we all get caught up in.

Christmas Play Project

These are the reason why there's been a shortage of postings lately. Our church is having a Christmas Around the World Play and I volunteered my services to make these kimonos. I must say that I honestly had no idea it would be quite so time consuming, but I should have known it would be that way with a toddler who wanted my attention 98 percent of the time. Anyway, I thought I would show you my excuse for being to busy to blog lately!

These are for the girls.

This is what the sleeves look like.

These are for the boys. I tried making them as masculine as possible.
