Wonderful Weekend

We had such a great weekend. We were celebrating the Marine Corp. birthday with their annual Birthday Ball. Happy Belated Birthday Marines! The Ball was in Destin which was about an hour and a half away from Pensacola. It was in the Hilton there! Let me tell you, I am definitely impressed with Hiltons! The bunk beds were the first thing we saw as we walked into our room. Then we saw the rest of the room and our jaws just dropped! Here is Ron and Aaron already making themselves at home!

Here is the view from our balcony. We were on the seventh floor. It was just beautiful! The weather wasn't quite warm enough to go walking on the beach, much to my disappointment, but we sure enjoyed the scenery anyway!

Aaron got to enjoy the pool.

The sunset was just breathtaking! I believe there was a wedding scheduled for that evening on the beach and oh how beautiful that would have been!

Saturday night we got to enjoy the Ball. It was the best ball that I've been to yet. They had a great guest speaker, the decorations were beautiful, and the guys acutally behaved themselves through the ceremony. It was just a nice time for the two of us! The first picture is of some of the Marines carrying the cake and on the right side of that picture is the oldest and youngest Marines that were present. The older passes the cake to the younger symbolizing the passing of the torch in a way. The whole ceremony is really neat, but I didn't get pictures of the rest of it. The whole weekend was very special and relaxing before we get into the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

Wonderful Veteran's Day!

We had such a neat Veteran's Day at church this past Sunday. We had our active duty servicemen lead us in the pledges and then Ron and three other men sang the National Anthem. Then they had purchased medals (the front said "Victory" and the back said "Thanks Vet" and then had the name of our church) for all the veterans and then played the theme song for each branch and had the respective veterans come up onto the stage to receive their medals. I got so emotional when I saw how MANY there were up there. Just a very special service. I appreciate so much how patriotic our pastor and church are! Hope everyone else had a nice Veteran's Day weekend, even though this is a little late!

We're thinkin' PINK!!!!!!!!!!!

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and found out we're havin' a GIRL!!! Ultrasounds are simply the most amazing things in the whole entire world! I know we've already been there, done that once already, but I don't think I will ever tire of the wonderful technology that God has allowed us to have. We got to see her bones, her heart beating, her waving at us, and her kicking like crazy! We are so thankful for God's wonderful creation of life! All that said, BRING ON THE PINK!!!!!!!!!! =)

Break from vacation pictures

We went to get some pumpkin pictures with Aaron, but it was his naptime so they aren't that great. At least we got a few anyway!

Then we had a "Trunk or Treat" at our church for our Family Fun Night. Aaron went as Aaron in the Bible (we were really cheap this year on the costume thing). He sure was cute though! He had fun getting all the candy, but he would get a piece and want to eat it rather than going and getting more! We used his wheelbarrow and everybody got a kick out of that!

This is Aaron just being silly right before we went home.

And a few weeks ago we went to the Fair here and had to get our traditional "BIG chair" pictures! We had fun that night too! Aaron liked all the animals and just the whole atmosphere!

Vacation Pictures Part 2

After our visit to the lovely St. Louis we were then on our way to Omaha, NE where my brother and sister-in-law live. They just got through building a house that is just amazing! I feel so stupid that I didn't get any pictures of it, other than what you see in these pictures. It was so good to see them again. Brooklynn and Carter are getting so big and are just a riot to watch and play with! JD and Heidi had to work during the day so we took advantage of their wonderful zoo. Aaron loved seeing all the animals. We didn't get much time there so we didn't get to see as many of them as we would have liked, but we still had a great time. Our time, as usual, was way too short and went way too fast, but we are so thankful to have been able to see them again! After two days there we were off again, so you'll have to stay tuned for those pictures!
